Problem in Engineering Soils S.I Edition

This well established text book, originally designed as a companion the THE MECHANICS OF ENGINEERING SOILS, now appears in an S.I. version. The worked examples are grouped into eight chapters. Within each chapter there is a gradation : the easy problems come first and the reader is led by gentle stages to much harder studies. In each problem a step-by-step explanation is given and the example is worked through to its numerical result: enough theory is described for the reader to grasp the principles involved. The problems contain many diagrams, for frequently the relation between the variables, both in the data for the problem and in the results, can be more clearly demonstrated graphically.
