Foundations of Theoretical Soil Mechanics

This book is an outgrowth of courses taught by the author in the Soil Mechanics Department of the School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University over several years. The present form of the book has twice been taught with considerable success as a one-semester (48 lectures) course to students whose area of major interest include soil mechanics, geology, transportation, fluid mechanics, structures, highway engineering and various aspects of engineering materials.
