Ministry of Public Works and Aceh Local Government Collaborate to Build Public School Phase I and Prepare Phase II

Aceh - The Ministry of Public Works' support for the Sekolah Rakyat program is a direct implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's vision in Asta Cita, which places the education sector as one of the main pillars.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo together with Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf and Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal discussed the prospective location of the People's School Phase II for Banda Aceh City, at the Banda Aceh Mayor's Hall on Wednesday (24/6/2025). The proposed location of the People's School construction is expected to be in a location with a total land area of around 6.5 hectares.

Minister Dody also emphasized that the location of the proposed candidate for the construction of the People's School is also prioritized to be in an environment with a level of community in the decile 1 category or high extreme poverty.

“This is important so that children in the neighborhood, especially from the extreme poor, have access to quality education,” said Minister Dody.

Phase I renovation of Sentra Darussadah Public School located at Soekarno-Hatta Street, Tingkem Village, Tingkeum, Darul Imarah Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency.

This renovation is an activity to improve the quality of education in Aceh Province and break the chain of poverty.

According to the Head of the Aceh Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit Syarifah Rahimah, the renovation of Phase I of the Darussadah Center has 16 building units including the rehabilitation of Dormitory II, Dormitory III, Laboratory and Library, Public Kitchen, Health Clinic, Toilets, Men's and Women's Mushalla, Recitation Hall I and II, Arts Hall, Construction of Waste Disposal Sites (TPS), Construction of Water Tower, and Landscaping Work as well as 4 Study Rooms.

Syarifah also said that in addition to Sentra Darussadah, the Ministry of Public Works has also completed Phase I of Public School infrastructure in Aceh Province at Ali Hasjmy State High School 2 Unggul, Indrapuri District, Aceh Besar Regency. The rehabilitation/renovation work includes 7 existing buildings, namely rehabilitation of male and female dormitories, dining rooms and kitchens, male and female mushalla, female toilets, 4 new classrooms (RKB).
